Cruz Land Management is run by Javier Cruz out of Seaside on the Monterey Peninsula. The masticating head grinds brush, saplings and small trees into mulch where they stand. In California fuel reduction work this is called mastication, the same job as forestry mulching. The brush mower cuts tall grass and weeds on fields and lots. The mulch stays on the ground as cover, and the larger trees are left standing.
